Silver is a shiny, whitish-gray precious metal used to make coins, jewelry, vessels, and ornaments.
- The temple in Jerusalem had vessels made of silver. These were stolen by the Babyloninas when they invaded Jerusalem and captured many of the Israelites in 586 BC.
- The vessels would include silver cups and bowls, among other things used for cooking, eating, or serving.
- In Bible times, silver coins or weights called shekels were used.
- Judas was paid 30 pieces of silver for betraying Jesus.
