Isaiah continues describing Yahweh's servant. (See: [Isaiah 53:1-2](./01.md))

# But he was pierced because of our rebellious deeds; he was crushed because of our sins
|
|
|
|
These two phrases share similar meanings and emphasize that the servant suffered because of the people's sins. This can be stated in active form. |
|
|
|
