Connecting Statement:

This chapter is Job's response to Eliphaz and is a continuation of the extended metaphor of a court case to describe Job's "case," which he seeks to bring to Yahweh, who is a judge. Cultures without a legal system will have difficulty translating this chapter. The ULB sets the lines of this chapter farther to the right on the page than the rest of the text because it is a poem.

Why are times for judging wicked people not set by the Almighty?

"I do not understand why God does not set a time when he will judge wicked people."

Why do not those who are faithful to God see his days of judgment come?

"It seems that those who obey him never get to see him judge the wicked."
