Woe
The word “woe” is used to talk about a feeling of great distress. That is, someone feels very bad because of something that happened to them.
The words “woe to” are always followed by a warning. This allows people to know that they will be punished for their sins (see: Isaiah 3:11; 10:5; Ezekiel 16:23).
A person who says “woe is me” or “woe to me” has great sorrow about severe suffering (see: Job 10:15; Isaiah 6:5).
