Jesus continues to teach about marriage and divorce.
They say to him
"The Pharisees say to Jesus"
command us
"command us Jews"
certificate of divorce
document that legally ends the marriage
from the beginning it was not that way
"when God created the man and woman he did not plan for them to ever divorce"
except for sexual immorality
"except for sexual unfaithfulness"
and the man who marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery
Many early texts do not include these words.
