puffed up

Definition:

The term "puffed up" refers literally to something that is full of air and so larger than its normal size. is a figurative expression that refers to being boastful, proud, or arrogant. (See: rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-idiom)

  • A person who is puffed up has an attitude of feeling superior to others.
  • Paul taught that knowing a lot of information or having religious experiences can lead to being "puffed up" or proud.
