Possible meanings are 1) David wrote the psalm or 2) the psalm is about David or 3) the psalm is in the style of David's psalms.

earnestly

"sincerely"

my soul thirsts for you, and my flesh longs for you

These two clauses have basically the same meaning and are used together to emphasize how greatly the writer desires to be with God. AT: "my whole being greatly desires to be with you" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-parallelism)

dry and weary land
