World
The word "world" usually refers to the part of the universe where people live. It is the earth. In the Bible, the people who live on the earth are also called the “world.”
The word “world” can also refer to something evil. In the Bible, evil people are called the “world.” Satan rules this “world” in some way (see: 1 John 5:19). However, God still rules Satan.
People think evil things and do evil things. These kinds of things are called “worldly” things (see: 1 Corinthians 3:1, 3). The “world” is everything that is opposed to God or fights against God (see: John 15:19; Romans 12:2; 1 Corinthians 2:12; Galatians 4:3; Ephesians 2:2; 6:12; 1 John 2:16).
