# Praise

The word “praise” is used to talk about giving honor and approval to a person.

People praise God because of how great he is. They praise him because of all the amazing things he does (see: Exodus 15:2; Acts 3:8-9). Praising God often includes being thankful for what he has done (see: Ezra 3:11; Nehemiah 12:24; Psalm 7:17). Music and singing are often used as a way to praise God (see: Judges 5:3; Psalm 7:17; Acts 16:25; James 5:13). Praising God is part of what people do when they worship him (see: Psalm 66:4).
