Immortal (Immortality)

Something that is “immortal” does not die. God is immortal (see: 1 Timothy 1:17).

God gives immortality to others. That is, people who believe in Jesus will live with God in heaven forever. However, people who reject Jesus will live separated from God in hell forever.

The word “mortal” is the opposite of immortal. Something that is mortal is something that will die (see: Job 4:17; Hebrews 7:8).
