Facts

The Sea of Galilee is a lake in eastern Israel. Its water flows south through the Jordan River down to the Dead Sea.

  • The towns of Capernaum and Bethsaida were next to the Sea of Galilee.
  • Other names for the Sea of Galilee include: the Sea of Tiberias, the Sea of Chinnereth, and the Lake of Genneseret.
