Literally, the term "magnify" means to draw attention to someone or something in order to make known.

When used in the Bible, the "magnify" usually refers to exalting a king or God himself.
When a person magnifies himself it means that he is proud and tries to make himself appear important. The prophet Daniel describes a king in the end times who will magnify himself above everyone in order for people to worship him.
