Facts

Bethlehem was a small city in the land of Israel, near the city of Jerusalem. It still exists to the present day.

King David was born in Bethlehem; for this reason it has been called the "city of David."
The prophet Micah said that the Messiah would come from Bethlehem.
Bethlehem is the city where Jesus was born.
The name means "house of bread" or "house of food."
