## Definition
To "send" is to cause someone or something to go somewhere. To "send out" someone is to tell that person to go on an errand or a mission.
* There is usually a specific purpose for sending someone out. Often a person who is "sent out" has been appointed to do a specific task.
* Phrases like "send rain" or "send disaster" mean "to cause…to come." This type of expression is usually used in reference to God causing these things to happen.
* The term "send" is also used in expressions such as "send word" or "send a message" which means to give someone a message to tell someone else.
* To send someone an animal or other gift means to "give" that thing to someone else, usually moving it some distance in order for the person to receive it.
