# Disaster upon disaster will come
|
|
|
|
Disaster is spoken of as if it could move by itself. AT: "One disaster after another will happen" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-personification]])

|
# they will seek a vision from the prophet
|
|
|
|
"they will ask the prophets what visions they have seen"
|
|
|
|
# the law will perish from the priest and advice from the elders
|
|
|
|
"The priests will not teach the law, and the elders will not be able to give good advice." This is because God will not give them wisdom.
|
|
|
|
# the prince
|
|
|
|
Possible meanings are 1) "the king's son" or 2) every male member of the royal family except the king.
|
|
|
|
# will dress in despair
|
|
|
|
Possible meanings are 1) clothing is a metonym for what a person feels, "will have no hope," or 2) "will dress in clothes that show he is mourning." (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-idiom]] and [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metonymy]])

# the hands of the people of the land will tremble in fear
|
|
|
|
