# For all his righteous decrees ... I have not turned away from them
Both of these clauses have similar meanings. The writer repeats these ideas for emphasis. (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-parallelism]])
# have been before me
"have guided me" or "I have remembered"
# I have also been innocent ... I have kept myself from sin
Both of these clauses have similar meanings. The writer repeats these ideas for emphasis. (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-parallelism]])
# innocent before him
"innocent according to him"
# I have kept myself from sin
"I have not sinned"
# my hands were clean
To have "clean hands" means that one is innocent of wrongdoing. See how you translated this in [Psalms 18:20](./020.md): AT: "I was innocent" or "my actions were right" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metonymy]])
# before his eyes
This refers to God's presence. AT: "before him" or "according to him" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-synecdoche]])
