# Then is this blessing pronounced only on those of the circumcision, or also on those of the uncircumcision?
This remark appears in the form of a question to show that Paul is beginning a discussion about the relationship between blessing and circumcision. Alternate translation: "I want to show you how it is that God blesses not only those who are circumcised, but also those who are not circumcised" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-rquestion]])
# those of the circumcision
This is a metonym that refers to the Jewish people. Alternate translation: "the Jews" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-metonymy]])
# those of the uncircumcision
This is a metonym that refers to the people who are not Jews. Alternate translation: "the Gentiles" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-metonymy]])
# For we say
Paul is going to show that because God counted Abraham as righteous by faith, we can infer that it is people who have faith that God counts righteous.
# Faith was counted to Abraham as righteousness
You can translate this in an active form. Alternate translation: "God considered the faith of Abraham as righteousness" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-activepassive]])
