# It came about that
This phrase is used to mark the beginning of a new part of the story. If your language has a way for doing this, you could consider using that method here.
# in the course of time
Possible meanings are 1) "after some time had passed" or 2) "at the right time"
# fruit of the ground

# some of the fat
This refers to the fatty parts of the lambs that he had killed, it was the best part of the animal. AT: "some of their fat parts" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-explicit]])
# accepted ... did not accept
"looked favorably upon ... did not look favorably upon" or "was pleased with ... was not pleased with"
# was very angry
Some languages have an idiom for anger such as "He burned" or "His anger burned."
# he scowled
