# General Information:

# The Jews said to him
|
|

Here "Jews" is a synecdoche for the Jewish leaders who opposed Jesus and arrested him. AT: "The Jewish leaders said to him" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-synecdoche]])

# It is not lawful for us to put any man to death
|
|
|
|
