# the testing in the fire that has happened to you

# rejoice and be glad
|

These two phrases mean basically the same thing and emphasize the intensity of joy. AT: "rejoice even more" or "be very glad" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-doublet]])

# at the revealing of his glory
|
|
|
|
"when God reveals Christ's glory"
|
|
|
|
# If you are insulted for Christ's name
|
|
|
|
Here the word "name" refers to Christ himself. This can be stated in active form. AT: "If people insult you because you believe in Christ" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-activepassive]] and [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metonymy]])

|
# the Spirit of glory and the Spirit of God
|
|
|
|
Both of these refer to the Holy Spirit. AT: "the Spirit of glory, who is the Spirit of God" or "the glorious Spirit of God" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-parallelism]])
