Almost all of the first believers were Jewish. Luke writes in this chapter that many Gentiles started to believe in Jesus. They believed that the message about Jesus was true and so began to "receive the word of God." Some of the believers in Jerusalem did not believe that Gentiles could truly follow Jesus, so Peter went to them and told them what had happened to him and how he had seen the Gentiles receive the Word of God and receive the Holy Spirit.
La majorité des premiers chrétiens étaient juifs. Luc écrit dans ce chapître que beaucoup de Païens ont commencé à croire en Jésus. Ils crurent que le message au sujet de Jésus était vrai et ainsi ils commençèrent à recevoir la parole de Dieu. Certains croyants à Jérusalem n'ont pas cru que les Païens pouvaient vraiment suivre Jésus, alors Pierre est venu et leur a dit ce qui lui été arrivé et comment il avait vu les Païens recevoir la Parole de Dieu et le Saint Esprit.
