Hanker10 c0606da0ee 1 Chronicles 15:18 footnote revised for clarity
1 Chronicles 15:18 footnote revised to add clarity:
Originally: \f + \ft Some Hebrew manuscripts add the name, "Ben,"perhaps the name of Zechariah's father was omitted. \f*
to:
\f + \ft Some Hebrew manuscripts add the name or prefix, "ben," assuming perhaps the name of Zechariah's father was omitted. \f*
My thought on this matter is that "ben" is not a name; rather, it is a prefixed particle meaning "son" but functions like "-son" in "Johnson." Other languages may have the same construction so eliminating the term in the text is correct as the NIV does but I changed the footnote for clarity
