This word is a type of thing. It is a noun.
* This word means idol. An idol is an image or an object made to look like a person, animal, or false god. People kept idols with them or in their home. Some idols were in temples. When people worshiped false gods, they prayed to the idols and sometimes offered sacrifices to them.
