From my weekly report:
ULB: Needs more paragraphs and \q2 for poetry. Talked with John, Chris, and Aby. John will assign this to his editors when they are ready in a few weeks.

Comment from Chris: Can you or John complete a test/sample chapter so that you know the outcome is what you desire? (before Reuben is onto another project) That way, when the editors start their work you know what needs to be done and the known outcome.

Here's what I see in HTML. Nov 4, 2021

POETRY (\m) PARAGRAPH (in different verse)

Gen 2
\v 23 The man said,
\q "This time, this one is bone of my bones, Empty line before \q
\q2 and flesh of my flesh.
\q She will be called 'woman,
\q2 because she was taken out of man."

\s5
\m Empty line before \m \p \v
\p
\v 24 Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, he will be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
\v 25 They were both naked, the man and his wife, but were not ashamed.

Gen 9
\v 5 But for your blood, the life that is in your blood, I will require payment. From the hand of every animal I will require it. From the hand of any man, that is, from the hand of one who has murdered his brother, I will require an accounting for the life of that man.
\q Empty line before \q
\v 6 Whoever sheds man's blood,
\q2 by man will his blood be shed,
\q for it was in the image of God that he made man.
\m Empty line before \m \p \v
\p
\v 7 As for you, be fruitful and multiply, spread throughout the earth and multiply on it."

T(he rest in Genesis that have \m are the same as the two above.)

POETRY (NO \m) PARAGRAPH (in different verse)

\v 24 When Noah awoke from his wine, he learned what his youngest son had done to him.
\v 25 So he said,
\q "Cursed be Canaan. Emty line before \q
\q2 May he be a servant to his brothers' servants."

\s5
\p Empty line before \p \v
\v 26 He also said,
\q "May Yahweh, the God of Shem, be blessed, Empty line before \q
\q2 and may Canaan be his servant.
\q
\v 27 May God extend the territory of Japheth,
\q2 and let him make his home in the tents of Shem.
\q2 May Canaan be his servant."

\s5
\p Empty line before \p \v
\v 28 After the flood, Noah lived three hundred fifty years.

POETRY (no \m) PARAGRAPH (in same verse)

1st PARAGRAPH (\p) POETRY
\c 12
\p
\v 1 Now Yahweh said to Abram, "Go from your country, and from your relatives, and from your father's household, to the land that I will show you.
\p Empty line before \q \v
\q1
\v 2 I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you,
\q2 and make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
\q1
\v 3 I will bless those who bless you, but whoever dishonors you I will curse.
\q2 Through you will all the families of the earth be blessed."

\s5
\p Empty line before
\v 4 So Abram went, as Yahweh had told him to do, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.

**1st POETRY (\b) PARAGRAPH (Zec 11:3-4)

\q
\v 3 There is the sound of the shepherds' howl,
\q2 for their glory has been destroyed!
\q There is the voice of the young lions' roar,
\q2 for the pride of the Jordan River has been devastated!
\b Empty Line

\s5
\p Empty Line
\v 4 This is what Yahweh my God says, "Like a shepherd, watch over the flock set aside for slaughter!

Nov 5. Yikes. I see now that the read.btt and test.pipeline.output are not the same. JOhn 20:15 was right in read.btt and wrong in test.pipe.line. The issue has not been dealt with yet in test.pipeline. Since read.btt was updated to the test.pipeline, John 20 should be wrong in both, but it's still right in read.btt.

Brainstorming. Would it be ideal if these markers worked liket this?

  • \p marks a new paragraph.
    • After a paragraph or poetry, \p makes an empty line.
    • After a chapter number, \p does not make an empty line. (Although it could start a new line.)
    • After \b, \p does not make an empty line.
  • \q marks an indented line of poetry (or list)
    • It does not make an empty line.
    • The wrapped text is further indented.
  • \q2 marks a further indented line of poetry
    • \It does not does not make an empty line.
    • The wrapped text is even further indented.
  • \b makes a smaller empty line.
    • Use to separate stanzas in poetry.
    • Use before poetry to show that is part of the preceding paragraph
    • Use it after poetry to show that it is part of the following paragraph.

Problem with the renderer not knowing how to handle another \p or \q within a verse.
