ULB Job 30:26
\v 26 When I hoped for good, then evil came;
\q when I waited for light, darkness came instead.
ULB Job 30:26
\v 26 But when I hoped for good, then evil came;
\q and I waited for light, darkness came.

"when I waited for light" vs "and I waited for light"
ULB is adequate
"darkness came instead" vs "darkness came"
No need for "instead". I'd like to delete it.
The conjunction is present. I would keep it as it is. It makes sense and is rather poetic and keeps with the tone.
Ok. Left as is.
