1Ki 22:31 current reading:
\v 31 Now the king of Aram had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, "Do not attack unimportant or important soldiers. Instead, attack only the king of Israel."
\v 32 It came about that when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat they said, "Surely that is the king of Israel." They turned to attack him, so Jehoshaphat cried out.
\v 33 It came about that when the commanders of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.
1Ki 22:31 suggestions for change:
\v 31 Now the king of Aram had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, "Do not fight anyone, either small or great, but fight only the king of Israel."

31 "attack ... attack" vs "fight ... fight"
Most versions have "fight with" or "fight against"
attack - NLT, CEV, GNT, ISV
ULB is adequate
"unimportant or important soldiers" or "anyone, either small or great"
Suggestion makes "anyone" explicit.
ULB gives contextual meaning of "small or great"
ULB is adequate
"Instead" vs "but"
I don't think "Instead" really fits here. Presumably they were not thinking that an option was to fight only the soldiers and ignore the king.
I think Ø is better.
Agreed
Removed Instead. Checked tNs.
