ULB 1Ki 11:34 currently reads:
\v 34 However, I will not take the whole kingdom out of Solomon's hand. Instead, I have made him ruler all the days of his life, for David my servant's sake whom I chose, the one who kept my commandments and my statutes.
ULB 1Ki 11:34 suggested change:
\v 34 But I will not take the whole kingdom out of Solomon's hand. I have made him ruler all the days of his life, for David my servant's sake whom I chose, the one who kept my commandments and my statutes.

"However" vs "But"
וְלֹֽא־ אֶקַּ֥ח
7 versions have "However"
5 have "But"
"However" seems to mark a strong contrast with what might be expected, but he had already said in v 32 that Solomon would have one tribe.
I think Ø would be better than either "However" or "But"
"Instead" vs Ø
כִּ֣י
I think Ø is better in the second sentence of 34.
The next verse (35) starts with "But".
Makes sense to me
