Current ULB:

\v 38 So let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you forgiveness of sins.
\v 39 By him every one who believes is justified from all the things which the law of Moses could not justify you.

OGNT as rendered by Lexham Bible

38 “Therefore let it be known to you, men and brothers, that through this one forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and from all the things from which you were not able to be justified by the law of Moses,
39 by this one everyone who believes is justified!

The bold words are in v. 38 in the Greek. The simplest solution is just to move them back and fit them in.

Grammarly suggests "you the forgiveness of sins" and "everyone who believes."

My suggestion:

\v 38 So let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you the forgiveness of sins and the forgiveness of everything from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
\v 39 By him everyone who believes is justified.

Current ULB: \v 38 So let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you forgiveness of sins. \v 39 By him every one who believes is justified **from all the things which the law of Moses could not justify you**. For the first sentence in v. 38, could the subject "the forgiveness of sins" precede the verb?

Here is also my attempt at matching the OGNT as far as which info is in which verse.

\v 38 So let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you forgiveness of sins. From all the things which the law of Moses could not justify you,
\v 39 by him every one who believes is justified.

\v 38 So let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. The law of Moses could not justify you from anything.
\v 39 But by him every one who believes is fully justified.

I added "fully" to try to cover "all the things".

This follows the OGNT, I think, a little better.
It might be, " through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you."

Following the OGNT:

Suggested as above:

\v 38 So let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. The law of Moses could not make you righteous.
\v 39 But by this man, everyone who believes he makes righteous.

the last, alternative: who believes in him he makes righteous.

"this man" saves confusion about whether this was Moses he was referring to" and follows the GRK.

make you righteous ... makes righteous. using the same verb: δικαιόω

Take a look ... I am not committing this until seconded ...

Tom, I like your idea of translating τούτῳ the same way in both verses.

I wonder what the advantage is to using "make ... righteous" rather than "justify."

If the final clause does use the active voice, could the object follow the verb?

or

Make you righteous, would be more likely to be understood without explanation.

I would support the first:

Who makes righteous? Does "who" refer to "this man"? to Moses? to the law of Moses?

Suggestion, explicating from v. 37:

But by this man God makes righteous everyone who believes.
