Song of Solomon 8:6
\v 6 Set me as a seal over your heart,
\q like a seal on your arm,
\q for love is as strong as death.
\q Passionate devotion is as unrelenting as Sheol;
\q its flames burst out; it is a blazing flame,
\q a flame hotter than any other fire.
This is the only time "passionate devotion" is in the ULB.
Most Bibles have "jealousy".
Some make it clear that the jealousy involves anger.
But not all do.
Maybe we could have a tN explaining two possible senses of "jealousy".
Could the ULB change it to "Jealousy"?
ULB - Passionate devotion is as unrelenting as Sheol
ESV - jealousy is fierce as the grave
NIV11 - its jealousy unyielding as the grave
ASV - Jealousy is cruel as Sheol.
CEV96 - The passion of love bursting into flame is more powerful than death
NRSV - passion fierce as the grave.
I don't remember what conversation we may have had about this. I'm still ok with changing to "jealousy" and adding note.
The Song of Song 8:6 now reads:
\v 6 Set me as a seal over your heart,
\q like a seal on your arm,
\q for love is as strong as death.
\q Jealousy is as unrelenting as Sheol;
\q its flames burst out; it is a blazing flame,
\q a flame hotter than any other fire.
Thanks,
Tom
Please check the tN for changes.

How would these tNs be?
for love is as strong as death
When someone dies, it is as if death is a strong person who does not release the person and let him live again. So also, when someone loves someone, that love is strong, and that person does not stop loving the other person. (See: rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-simile)
Jealousy
Possible meanings are 1) this refers to the woman's desire that the man would love only her, or 2) this refers to the woman's own strong love for the man.
Jealousy is as unrelenting as Sheol
When someone dies and goes to Sheol, it is as if Sheol is a strong person who does not release the person and let him leave. So also, when someone is jealous for someone, his jealousy is strong and he does not stop being jealous for that person. (See: rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-simile)
These are challenging because there are the "death as strong person" and "Sheol as unrelenting person" metaphors, and the "love as strong as death" and "jealousy as unrelenting as Sheol" similes.
That is a difficult verse to explain. I think these notes are helpful. I will add them.
Done.
