9:23

\v 23 When Jesus came into the official's house, he saw the flute players and the crowds making much noise.
\v 23 When Jesus came into the official's house, he saw the flute players and the crowd in tumult.

Current ULB is the same.

It would be nice to find a more common word. Suggestions: "making a commotion" or "in an uproar." I'm not sure if these are any better, though.

SQ.
"In tumult" sounds odd to me. "In a tumult" sounds better.
We have "tumult" 13 times in the OT.
We have "commotion" 4 times in OT.
We have "uproar" 6 times in OT and 6 times in NT, but it's usually associated with anger.

G2350 occurs only 4 times.
Mrk 5:39 When he entered the house, he said to them, "Why are you upset and why do you weep? The child is not dead but sleeps."

Acts 17:5 But the unbelieving Jews, being moved with jealousy, took certain wicked men from the marketplace, gathered a crowd together, and set the city in an uproar. Assaulting the house of Jason, they were seeking to bring Paul and Silas out to the people.

Acts 20:10 But Paul went down, stretched himself out on him, and embraced him. Then he said, "Do not be upset any more, for he is alive."

Suggested change to Matt 9:23
\v 23 When Jesus came into the official's house, he saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion.

John, should we ask Tom to make similar changes for this word in Mark 5:39 and Acts 20:10?

JH: I'm ok if you want to make those changes, but I think they are fine as is.

SQ
Tom please make the following change to Mat 9:23.
