1:18
\v 18 The birth of Jesus Christ happened in the following way. His mother, Mary, was engaged to marry Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

"Fixes with Henry" Tom changed this back to the original. I think "to be pregnant" reads better, but "womb" is literal and it has a tw page. Will decide after today's meeting.
See also 1:23
SQ Since only one version in Bible Hub uses "womb" in those two verses, I get the impression that other translation committees did not see anything significant about "holding in the womb." So I think it's best to go with what we have: "to be pregnant" and "will become pregnant.

2:16
\v 16 Then Herod, when he saw that he had been mocked by the learned men, was very angry. He sent and killed all the male children that were in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old and under, according to the time that he had determined exactly from the learned men.

Current ULB is the same.
There is a tW page for "slay." It includes "kill" in the header. I am not sure what we are gaining by changing "kill" to "slay" here. Do we need slain, slay, or slew in the ULB at all?
SQ I think "slay" is archaic. I'd be happy to see it slain from the ULB.
JH: Well, then its ruins shall be smote upon the mountain side. -- a paraphrase of Gandalf the White, Lord of the Rings
Tom, please change "slay, slays, slaying, slew, slain" to "kill, kills, killing, and killed"
From Tom W --- did them all ... this is a pic of some of them ...
This was the longer section (not all of them) __ SLAIN to killed (or some such)
Review:
Deu 28:31
\v 31 Your ox will be killed before your eyes, but you will not eat its meat; your donkey will be forcibly taken away from before you and will not be restored to you. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and you will have no one to deliver you.
1Sa 29:5
\v 5 Is this not David of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying,
\q 'Saul has killed his thousands,
\q and David his ten thousands'?"
Pro 7:26
\v 26 She has caused many people to fall down pierced;
\q those she has killed are numerous.
Isa 14:19
\v 19 But you are cast out of your grave like an abhorrent branch.
\q1 Those who were killed cover you like a garment, those pierced by the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit like a trampled corpse.
Isa 26:21
\v 21 For, look, Yahweh is about to come out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity;
\q1 the earth will uncover her bloodshed, and will no longer conceal those she killed.
Isa 27:7
\v 7 Has Yahweh attacked Jacob and Israel as he attacked those nations who attacked them? Have Jacob and Israel been killed as their killers were killed?
Lam 4:9
\v 9 Those killed by the sword are better than those killed by hunger,
\q who wasted away, pierced by the lack of any harvest from the field.
Ezk 28:23
\v 23 I will send out a plague in you and blood in your streets, and those who were killed will fall in the midst of you. When the sword comes against you from all around, then you will know that I am Yahweh.
Ezk 32:25
\v 25 They have made a bed among all the multitude of Elam, all around her grave.
\q All of them are uncircumcised, pierced by the sword, because they had brought their terrors on the land of the living.
\q So they carry their own shame, together with the ones going down to the pit among all those who have been killed, those who are going down to the pit. Elam is among all those who were killed.
Dan 2:13
\v 13 So the decree went out to put the wise men to death, and they sent to look for Daniel and his friends to put them to death.
Nam 3:3
\v 3 Horsemen charging,
\q flashing swords and glittering spears!
\q Piles of the dead, bodies that could not be counted—
\q their attackers stumble over the bodies.
Acts 7:42
\v 42 But God turned and gave them up to worship the stars in the sky, as it is written in the book of the prophets,
\q 'Did you bring me offerings and sacrifices
\q during the forty years in the wilderness, house of Israel?
4:24
-\v 24 The news about him went out into all of Syria, and the people brought to him all those who were sick with various diseases and pains, those possessed by demons, and the epileptic and paralytic. Jesus healed them.
+\v 24 The news about him went out into all of Syria, and the people brought to him all those who suffered from various diseases and pains, those who were demonized, the epileptics, and the paralytics. Jesus healed them.

), "demonized" was changed back to "possessed by demons." I think this is a good change. "Demonize" means something different to me than "possessed by demons." I like the current ULB.SQ. So do I.
