\v 10 Do not tell about it in Gath;
\q do not weep at all.
\q At Beth Leaphrah I roll myself in the dust.

ISSUE: NIV11 renders the placename in v. 10b as Beth Ophrah for reasons unknown to me.

NOTE: If the ULB is changed, the corresponding tN will also need to be changed.

Will look at this again in the morning.

The editors of NIV11 said that Beth Ophrah was "house of dust" (in their footnote ad loc).

Most other modern versions have Beth Leaphrah, or something close to that.

We had decided that the place names would follow NIV11, but there have been exceptions, like here. Over all, the NIV11 is helpful, but the majority is so broad that it should be, as you suggest, Beth Leaphrah, and the change seems to be a helpful one.

I will commit the change tomorrow (Thursday, 1/23/2020).

Thanks very much Bob.

The HEB: בְּבֵ֣ית לְעַפְרָ֔ה

House of aphrah (is where the NIV11 got it).

Brown Driver and Briggs ... in Philistine territory; site unknown.

Obviously!

The Trilingual Hebrew-English has:
name Beth-Leaphrah, location: territory of Judah ...

Yep. See you changed it, all is well.

Thanks Bob,

Tom Warren
