Hey there! Okay, I think the ULB is simply wrong in this verse with its:
You love to pay the wages a prostitute requires on all the floors for threshing grain.
The consensus is that it is "you love the wages of a prostitute" in the sense of, Israel loves to RECEIVE, not PAY the wages.
For now I am leaving the SUN just as the ULB has it, but just so you know.
\v 1 Do not rejoice, Israel,
\q2 with joy like the other peoples.
\q For you have been unfaithful,
\q2 abandoning your God.
\q You love to pay the wages a prostitute requires
\q2 on all the floors for threshing grain.
Interesting. The ULB makes it sound like the Israelites were meeting with human prostitutes on the threshing floors. In other versions, the Israelites were prostituting themselves spiritually by worshiping false gods on the threshing floors.
I agree, the ULB is incorrect. The text should reflect that the Israelites were receiving the wages.
How about this?
\v 1 Do not rejoice, Israel,
\q2 with joy like the other peoples.
\q For you have been unfaithful,
\q2 abandoning your God.
\q You love the wages of a prostitute
\q2 on all the floors for threshing grain.
