Delete Branch "%!s(<nil>)"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
\v 14 Yahweh God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,
\q1 Cursed are you alone among all the livestock
\q2 and all the beasts of the field.
\q1 It is on your stomach that you will go,
\q2 and it is dust that you will eat
\q2 all the days of your life
\q1
\v 15 I will put hostility between you and the woman,
\q2 and between your seed and her seed.
\q1 He will bruise your head,
\q2 and you will bruise his heel."
ISSUES:
(1) Should "Cursed" be lower case?
(2) There needs to be either a period or a semicolon at the end of verse 14
SUGGESTED CHANGES:
\v 14 Yahweh God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,
\q1 cursed are you alone among all the livestock
\q2 and all the beasts of the field.
\q1 It is on your stomach that you will go,
\q2 and it is dust that you will eat
\q2 all the days of your life.
I put a period at the end of 14.
I wasn't sure whether to make Cursed lower case or not.
It's true that it's part of the sentence before it,
but it also seems to be the beginning of a poem.
Some versions have upper case and some have lower case.
The period does not affect TN.
The TN had lower-case "cursed". I left TN as is, and changed the ULB to lowercase "cursed"
John, what do you think?
I'm seeing a comma rather than a period in the branch. Is that correct?
If so, I'm fine with these changes.
Are you talking about the comma at the end of the first line of v14, before the word "cursed"? I left it there.
The period I put in was at the end of v14, which had no punctuation before.
The ULB now has
\v 14 Yahweh God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,
\q1 cursed are you alone among all the livestock
\q2 and all the beasts of the field.
\q1 It is on your stomach that you will go,
\q2 and it is dust that you will eat
\q2 all the days of your life.
\q1
\v 15 I will put hostility between you and the woman,
\q2 and between your seed and her seed.
\q1 He will bruise your head,
\q2 and you will bruise his heel."
