\v6 How Esau had been ransacked, his hidden treasures looted!
\v7 All the men of your alliance will send you on your way to the border. The men who were at peace with you have deceived you, and prevailed against you. They who eat your bread have set a trap under you. There is no understanding in him.
Most versions have future tense, and future tense seems to fit with whole book.
The Hebrew has perfect aspect.
What do you think of this?
\v6 How Esau will be ransacked, his hidden treasures looted!
\v7 All the men of your alliance will send you on your way to the border. The men who were at peace with you will deceive you and prevail against you. They who eat your bread will set a trap under you. There is no understanding in him.
The UDB already has future tense.
If we change the ULB, we'll need to fix tN and tQ.
That seems to fit. The future does carry with it a certain mode that reach into other verbs, also being captured by the future. So that is fine.
The ULB (already in the UDB) of OBA 1:6, 7 now reads:
\v6 How Esau will be ransacked, his hidden treasures looted!
\s5
\v7 All the men of your alliance will send you on your way to the border. The men who were at peace with you will deceive you and prevail against you. They who eat your bread will set a trap under you. There is no understanding in him.
Applied to the ULB -- TW
The tQ:verse 7 is already in the future (no other reference to OBA 1:6)
The tN -- text was changed to reflect the future mode. TW
