# myrrh # ## Definition: ## Myrrh is an oil or spice that is made from the resin of a myrrh tree that grows in Africa and Asia. It is related to frankincense. * Myrrh was also used to make incense, perfume, and medicine, and to prepare dead bodies for burial. * Myrrh was one of the gifts that the learned men gave to Jesus when he was born. * Jesus was offered wine mixed with myrrh in order to ease the pain when he was crucified.
