What do you think of me changing "on its west" and "on its east" to
"to the west" and "to the east"?
jordanriver.md
Today, the Jordan River separates Israel on its west from Jordan on its east.
saltsea.md
The Salt Sea (also called the Dead Sea) was located between southern Israel on its west and Moab on its east.
samaria.md
Samaria was the name of a city and its surrounding region in the northern part of Israel. The region was located between the Plain of Sharon on its west and the Jordan River on its east.
In New Testament times, the region of Samaria was bordered by the region of Galilee on its north and the region of Judea on its south.
Maybe it is just because I'm inundated with WIT, but would it be better to reword the sentence?
Something like: Today, the Jordan River separates Israel and Jordan. Israel is on the west side of the Jordan River. Jordan is on the east side of the Jordan River.
I tried to make them fit with WIT as John did above. But it was challenging dealing with tense. The river and the sea are still where they were, even though the names of the places around them have changed.
Jordanriver.md
Today, the Jordan River separates the countries of Israel and Jordan. Israel is on the west side of the river, and Jordan is on the east side of the river.
Saltsea.md
The Salt Sea (also called the Dead Sea) is a lake in the Jordan River Valley. The Jordan River flows into the sea.
In Bible times, Israel was west of the sea, and Moab was east of the sea.
Samaria.md
Samaria was the name of a city and its surrounding region in the northern part of Israel. The Plain of Sharon is west of this region, and the Jordan River is east of this region.
In New Testament times, the region of Galilee was north of Samaria, and the region of Judea was south of Samaria.
Yes, I see how the tenses would be tricky. What you wrote looks good to me.
