According to Old Testament law, a woman was ritually unclean during her monthly bleeding. "Jerusalem's sins have made her completely unclean and unacceptable before God." (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-simile]])
## her nakedness ##

## She has become unclean beneath her skirts ##
This is a reference to a woman's monthly bleeding that would make her unclean.
## She has gone down shockingly ##
