Paul continues to list situations in which he and Timothy are God's servants.

as sorrowful ... as poor ... as having nothing
Possible meanings are that 1) Paul and Timothy were sorrowful and poor and had nothing, or 2) people regarded Paul and Timothy as being sorrowful and poor and as having nothing.
