the company of soldiers
a group of about 600 soldiers, 60 of which would be a company.

I don't understand this note. It seems like it should be either 600 or 60.

Marshall's commentary on Acts
The garrison in Jerusalem was a cohort, nominally consisting of 760 infantry and 240 cavalry,

Bruce's Commentary on Acts
tþ cili€rcû tÒv spe°rjv] “the military tribune in command of the cohort,” Claudius Lysias by name (23:26). The cohort (for spe²ra see on 10:1) was a cohors auxiliaris with a paper strength of 1,000 (760 infantry and 240 cavalry);

NET BIble notes
A cohort was a Roman military unit of about 600 soldiers, one-tenth of a legion.

I think I'll just delete the part about 60.

the chief captain
a Roman military officer or leader of about 60 soldiers

I guess this note will need to be fixed too -- or deleted.

Bible Hub says this about it:
chiliarchos: a chiliarch, a commander of a thousand
Original Word: χιλίαρχος, ου, ὁ
Definition: a chiliarch, a commander of a thousand
Usage: a commander of a thousand men, a military tribune.

Looks like you and I have the same resources for Acts. I find this:

Legion = 6000
Cohort/company = 1000 (1/6 of a legion)
χιλίαρχος = captain of 1000.

I am not sure where 60 came from.

I think we could use 1000 in both notes:

the chief captain
This is a Roman military leader of about 1000 solders.

the company of soldiers
A company is about 1000 soldiers.

I see we have 8 notes for this in Acts 21, 22, 23, and 27. All of them say 600.

I changed some to 1,000 and I deleted others when they were a few verses away.
