9:30
who were not pursuing righteousness
"who were not trying to please God"
9:31
did not arrive at that law
This means that the Israelites could not please God by trying to keep the law. You can make this explicit in your translation. Alternate translation: "were not able to please God by keeping the law because they could not keep it" (See: rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-explicit)
These notes equate righteousness with pleasing God, but that's not what the tW page says. I wonder if these could be simplified.
9:30
who were not pursuing righteousness
"who were not trying to get righteousness" or "who were not trying to be righteous"
9:31
But Israel, who did pursue a law of righteousness
"But Israel, who tried to obey a law in order to get righteousness" or "But Israel, who tried to get righteousness by obeying a law"
9:31
did not arrive at that law
"could not keep that law" or "did not succeed at keeping that law."
I like the idea of referring the user to the tW page instead of unpacking tWs on the tN pages. We're doing it inconsistently, but we're a long time away from needing that particular consistency check.
So I'll make these changes?
For the second AT in 9:31 what about this:
"But Israel, who tried to be righteous by obeying a law"
This matches the second AT in 9:30
Yes. Thanks. I'll do that.
