This phrase refers to message about the forgiveness offered through Jesus christ. It offers forgiveness and new life unlike the law that only condemns to death.

## abound in glory ##

Christ's service of righteousness is far more glorious to the Law which also had glory.

## that which was once made...For if that ##

The word "that" refers to the law of Moses.

## in this respect ##

"in this way"

## that exceeds it ##

"that is better than it"

## was passing away ##

"has completed its purpose"
