# The law, which came 430 years afterward, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God

In some languages it might be strange to speak of a law coming or setting aside a covenant. It might be clearer to make explicit who gave the law.  Alternate translation: "When God gave the law 430 years later, he did not set aside the covenant that he had previously established" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-explicit]])
