Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
The section reads:
When Paul wrote "of the circumcision," he wanted people to know that three of the men he wrote about were Jewish. Jewish people circumcised their boys when they were 8 days old. At this time, the Gentiles did not do this. Therefore, people knew a man was Jewish if he was circumcised.
A GL translator makes this observation:
supposing that paul wrote "of the cirrcumcision" for this reason. again supposition without proof.
I do not think this needs any change.
No change is necessary.
I think we need to explain to the GL translator that "he wanted ... to know" is a stylistic choice of the commentary.
