G4214 (πόσος/posos)
This word is used instead of the name of a person or thing. It is a pronoun.
OGNT follows Strong's and tags this as Q, 'correlative or interrogative pronoun'. I find that very confusing, especially with our description of a pronoun as "This word is used instead of the name of a person or thing." I would have expected it to be tagged as an interrogative adjective to be like numbers, which are tagged as adjectives.
NAS Exhaustive Concordance calls it an interrogative adjective.
Could we change the grammar tag to "adjective" or maybe "interrogative adjective" or something like "questioning adjective"?
I see that OGNT has the following tags for these question words:
τίς 'who' - I (interrogative pronoun) (Mrk 8:27)
τίς 'which' - I (interrogative pronoun)(Mat 20:21)
πόθεν 'where' - ADV (Adverb) (Mat 13:56)
ότε 'when' -PRT-I (PaRTicle, Interrogative) (Mat 25:37)
(εἰς) τίς '(toward) what' (why) - (interrogative pronoun) (Mat 14:31)
πως 'how' - ADV (Adverb)
If we want them to have tags we are mainly using, how about something like these?
τίς 'who' - Interrogative pronoun
τίς 'which' - Interrogative pronoun
πόθεν 'where' - Interrogative adverb
ότε 'when' - Interrogative adverb
(εἰς) τίς '(toward) what' - Interrogative pronoun
πως 'how' - Interrogative adverb
posos 'how much' - Interrogative adjective
