+人们经常用火来烧毁东西，或用火来烧去某样东西之中的污垢和无价值的部分，以使之变得纯净，因此，当上帝惩罚邪恶或净化信徒时，常常会与火有某种关联。(参见: [[rc://en/tw/dict/bible/other/fire]])

+#### 主的日子
+至于主降临的确切时间，将会是意想不到的。明喻“像夜贼（一般的降临）”，就说的是这个意思。正因如此，所以基督徒要时刻准备着主降临的那一天。 (参见: [[rc://en/tw/dict/bible/kt/dayofthelord]] and [[rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-simile]])
