Almost all of the first believers were Jewish. Luke writes in this chapter that many Gentiles started to believe in Jesus. They believed that the message about Jesus was true and so began to "receive the word of God." Some of the believers in Jerusalem did not believe that Gentiles could truly follow Jesus, so Peter went to them and told them what had happened to him and how he had seen the Gentiles receive the Word of God and receive the Holy Spirit.
تقریباً تمام پہلے ایماندار یہودی تھے۔ لوقا نے اس باب میں لکھا کہ بہت سے غیر قوم کے لوگوں نے یسوع پر یقین کرنا شروع کیا۔ ان کا ماننا تھا کہ یسوع کے بارے میں پیغام سچ تھا اور اسی طرح خدا کا کلام ملنا شروع ہوا۔ ان میں سے کچھ یروشلم میں ایمانداروں کو یقین نہیں تھا کہ غیر قوم کے لوگ یسوع کی پیروی کر سکتے ہیں، لہذا پطرس ان کے پاس گیا اور انھیں بتایا کہ اس کے ساتھ کیا ہوا ہے اور اس نے یہ کیسے دیکھا ہے کہ غیر قوموں نے خدا کے کلام کو قبول کیا اور روح القدس کو حاصل کی۔
