Mount Sinai was also known as “Mount Horeb.” Mount Sinai was part of a large, rocky desert. The Israelites came to Mount Sinai as they traveled from Egypt to the Promised Land (see: Exodus 19:1-2). God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai (see: Exodus 19-20).
