\v 1 The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hills.

\v 2 He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other place in Israel.

|
\v 3 You people in Jerusalem,
|
|
\q2 other people say wonderful things about your city.
|
|

\v 4 Some of those who know our God are the people of Egypt and Babylonia,
|
|
\q2 and also the people of Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia;
|

\q2 someday they all will say,
|
|
\q2 "Although I was not born in Jerusalem,
|
|
\q2 it is as though I was born there because I belong to Yahweh."

\v 5 Concerning Jerusalem, people will say,

\q2 "All of these people were born there,
|
|
\q2 and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong."

\v 6 Yahweh will write a list of the names of the people of various groups who belong to him,

\q1 and he will say that he considers them all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

\q2 "Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings."
