It borders the Aegean Sea. * The apostle Paul was a citizen from the city of Tarsus located in Cilicia. * Paul spent several years in Cilicia after his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. * Some of the Jews from Cilicia were among those who confronted Stephen and influenced the people to stone him to death.
